The Abaya Edit — Styling Quiet Luxury
How to build a capsule of abayas you'll reach for every day, from fabric to finish.
The Abaya Edit began, as so many of our projects do, with a quiet conversation in the studio. We wanted to share the thinking behind it — the small decisions that rarely make it to the rail, and the people whose hands shape every piece we send out into the world.
At Khimar, we have always believed that modest fashion should feel effortless rather than restrictive. Each idea is tested against the way real women move through their days, from the cut of a sleeve to the weight of a fabric in warm weather. Nothing is left to chance, and nothing is rushed.
That patience is deliberate. As a female-led independent brand, we work in small batches and revisit each design until it earns its place. It is slower, and at times harder, but it lets us stay close to the craft and to the community that has grown around it over the years.
In the Studio
Behind every edit sits a team that cares deeply about the details most people never notice. We pore over swatches, drape toiles, and debate the difference a single centimetre of length can make. These are the moments that give a collection its quiet confidence.
We also lean on the feedback of those who wear our pieces. Your notes on fit, coverage and comfort shape the next season as much as any mood board, and that exchange is something we treasure. It keeps the work honest and grounded in everyday life.
If there is a single thread running through this story, it is intention. We hope it comes through in the finish of every seam and the calm of every silhouette — and that, in some small way, it makes getting dressed feel a little more joyful.
